Radio Training

Under our Broadcast Training brand, we have been running training courses since 1999.

The main radio course is based on the training materials from the late Linda Gage* (under license from the Linda Gage Memorial Trust).

A full time accredited course has run at a number of further education colleges in Wolverhampton, South London (Lambeth College) and in Surrey (most recently at the former RNIB College in Redhill).

The main radio course is made up of a number of individual units which can be delivered a standalone short courses or workshops.

Current workshops include:

*   Radio interviewing and speech package production.
*   Music radio presentation, production and scheduling.
*   Speech radio presentation and production.
*   Digital editing and mixing.
*   Basic broadcast journalism
*   Broadcast law

In addition to the short courses, we can help design courses and training sessions for your station. Our qualified training staff can also advise on assessment materials applicable to EDEXCEL and other accredited radio qualifications.

We will shortly be making our training materials available as an on-line resource. Details will be posted here as these are developed.

Training for the Voluntary Sector
We have recently run short courses for the voluntary sector. These are one and two day workshops.

The topics we can offer are:

*   Responsibilities and duties of charity trustees
*   Volunteer Recruitment and Management
*   On-line marketing
*   Media Survival

* The second edition of Linda Gage's book "A Guide to Commercial Radio Journalism" is still available. A third edition is currently being prepared.
